Andaz One Bangkok captures the creative energy of the city
Andaz’s latest lifestyle hotel in Thailand flourishes with local art and character, overlooking lush Lumphini Park
Bangkok is many things to many people. For some, it is a welcome stopover on a larger tour of Thailand or the region; for others, it is a thriving cultural destination in its own right. It is a business base, a retail mecca, and one that increasingly prioritises wellness and the arts. The new Andaz One Bangkok caters to all of these interests, while being one of the city’s most design-forward new stays.
The hotel joins One Bangkok, an expansive new hospitality, lifestyle and commercial precinct on the edge of Lumphini Park. Don’t let the shiny tower blocks fool you: the hotel reflects a new Andaz chapter, which positions the hotel group as a modern incubator for local design and creativity. Decor is infused with Thai elements, including handwoven textiles and ceramic art made from locally sourced clay.

Art and atmosphere
Andaz is known for its bold design and the hotel lobby is accordingly impressive: guests are greeted by a vibrant textile mural by Ploenchan (Mook) Vinyaratn, made from upcycled yarns and hand-tufted carpet, inspired by the distinct energy of the hotel’s surrounds. There is a focus on women artists throughout the hotel, with works by Khun Pinaree (Eye) Sanpitak and Khun Pim Sudhikam also on display, the latter translating hidden blessings into sculptural clay forms.
Interiors draw inspiration from mid-century modern Thai style, with warm timber, teak and an indoor-outdoor flow. Rooms are spacious and airy, balancing soft curves with pops of bright colour, while marble bathrooms feature Byredo toiletries and treetop views. Find local brands in the mini bar, including coffee slow-roasted in the north of Thailand and presented in environmentally friendly bio-based capsules.

Wellness and leisure
We recommend checking in and heading straight to the saltwater infinity pool on the seventh floor, which hovers above the park. Swim a few laps before ordering fresh coconut water to sip from your poolside cabana.
A cultured, international crowd gathers in the glass-walled terrace on the lobby floor, which transforms throughout the day: guests and locals gather for coffee and Asian bites, before shifting in the evening to tea-infused cocktails, which draw on Bangkok’s heritage of herbal and spiced infusions.
Guests can balance revelry with restoration at the hotel fitness centre, which also includes a sauna and steam room. The design draws inspiration from the nearby Polo Club, a historic sporting institution known for its exclusivity and equestrian heritage.

Bars and restaurants
Jǐng is the hotel’s Chinese restaurant, with a warm, understated aesthetic and plenty of natural light. Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine is prepared at the theatrical open kitchen, where scallops leap in flaming woks and dim-sum is delicately folded by hand. Classics are done right here: kung pao chicken, crisp-skinned pork belly and chongqing noodles, all served in a contemporary, relaxed setting.
Perched high on the 23rd floor is Piscari, the Mediterranean rooftop destination, designed to echo a yacht floating above the city. A European-leaning coastal menu spans seafood platters, grilled octopus or tiger prawn, paired with panoramic views from every angle. Settle at the circular bar or on the outdoor terrace, while a live DJ spins tracks against a glittering night skyline.
For something more intimate, slip into Piscari’s speakeasy-style bar, which sits just a handful of guests.

A vibrant blend
Andaz One Bangkok is a bold and contemporary interpretation of Thai style for the modern traveller. More than just a hotel, day-to-night dining sits alongside wellness and fitness for an elevated lifestyle experience. Outside, the gleaming urban environment is softened by generous green space and commissioned sculptures, reflecting the city’s textured and evolving character, while placing you perfectly to explore One Bangkok’s leading retail, entertainment, art and culture.
If this is Andaz’s new direction, it’s certainly one worth following.
