As the daughter of a pilot, Lydia was born to travel: her first memories include sleeping on the floor of a 747 cockpit and eating chicken satay in Singapore’s hawker markets. Instead of working for an airline, she fell in love with words like “shrub”, “bamboozled” and “festooned”, and channelled her energy into writing about travel and food. Previously editor of Escapism and deputy editor of Foodism magazines, her writing has also appeared in FT How To Spend It, Conde Nast Traveller, The Independent and many more. She is the former editor of ROADBOOK.
