Pulitzer Hotels puts soul into European city stays
With locations across Europe, Pulitzer Hotels creates art-filled boutique stays, unique in character and designed for connection
Brothers Luis and Javier Roig grew up playing in the lobby of the Regina Hotel in Barcelona, which was owned by their father. Hospitality was in their blood, yet they were equally attuned to a changing landscape. They recognised that guests were increasingly drawn to design-centric, contemporary hotels that marry considered architecture with a relaxed ease.
Today, the Pulitzer portfolio comprises the Regina Hotel and Pulitzer Barcelona in the Catalan capital, alongside the chic Pulitzer Paris. The group has an ongoing collaboration with designer and painter Lázaro Rosa Violán, whose creative imprint is found at Pulitzer Barcelona and Pulitzer Paris, including unique artwork, bespoke furniture and a distinct woody amber scent, that drifts through convivial social spaces. “Our hotels are full of personality and designed to make each guest feel at home,” says Javier Roig. “We want them to slow down and appreciate the details.”

Community is at the core of Pulitzer. Far from empty lobbies or lifeless restaurants, its spaces are designed for connection: at Hotel Regina, Bar La Esquina spills onto the street, where locals perch with sizzling tapas made with local produce, while in Paris, Le Patio offers a softly lit setting to linger over coffee or cocktails. Across the portfolio, you’ll also find acoustic gigs in the lobby, leafy courtyards and libraries of books that celebrate the creative spirit of each city.
Sustainability underpins everything that Pulitzer does. The company earned its prestigious B Corp status in 2025, demonstrating its sincere commitment to responsible hospitality and lasting positive impact.
Prime location, design-conscious social spaces, genuine sustainability initiatives and considered integration of local culture set Pulitzer apart. These are not just hotels that inhabit a city, they shape and give back to the communities around them.

Hotel Regina
The first Hotel of the group was Regina, whose building dates back to 1917. It has been part of the Pulitzer family since 1967 and underwent a full renovation in 2024, balancing historic elegance with contemporary comfort. Behind its modernist facade, you’ll find 91 rooms designed by Barcelona-based studio WIT, the most sought after with private balconies overlooking Plaça de Catalunya.
Hotel Regina transforms throughout the day: start with coffee in the leafy courtyard patio, enjoy plates of stuffed squid and its famed patatas bravas at Bar La Esquina, and wind down with an evening cocktail at the ground floor lobby-lounge, Gina’s, where parquet flooring and soft, muted tones create a calm, considered warmth.

Hotel Pulitzer Barcelona
The second Pulitzer location in Barcelona, this sibling hotel is set amongst the city’s renowned Gaudí architecture. Spanish flavours are reflected in sunlit breakfasts in The Greenhouse and tapas of grilled octopus and vibrant persimmon carpaccio. The terrace packs out on balmy evenings, with DJ sets and city-wide views, while the lobby bar often hosts local acoustic bands. Tranquil rooms feature private, sun-dappled balconies, while characterful details include fireplaces and bespoke art.

Hôtel Pulitzer Paris
Indoor plants and art abound at Pulitzer Paris. Each room features bespoke works that reflect the spirit of the French capital, while Le Patio is the hotel’s softly lit restaurant, bar and library space. Order a French Paradise cocktail – mixing rum, St Germain, ginger, honey, lime juice and egg white – followed by warming boeuf bourguignon or a towering Pulitzer cheeseburger. Located in the 9th arrondissement’s Opéra district, the city’s cultural landmarks and Belle Époque history are right on your doorstep.
