What does a journey mean to you?
A journey to me means the unfurling of a story, a process between the known and the unknown. Ultimately, it’s the process of discovering ourselves, a destination and the people we encounter.
Which other country or location most inspires you?
LA’s Downtown is a recent source of inspiration for me. After spending time there, I was captured by its rejuvenation; how it’s now a hub for the city’s creative industries and reminiscent of those energetic districts of New York. Also, how the district stands in stark contrast to the often glossy perception of Los Angeles.
Where would you go back to, and why?
East Africa. I was lucky enough to explore this region at a pivotal time in my life and it is a trip that will forever stay ingrained in me. I had the opportunity to experience the heart and soul of East Africa, from its vibrant culture, delicious food and breathtaking landscapes. Visiting Murchison Falls was a highlight, where our boat trip offered an incredible (and spontaneous) wildlife spectacle including crocodiles, elephants, and hippos – all in just half an hour.
Top insider tip for London?
I’m lucky enough to visit London regularly for work, and I always recommend cycling around the city (when safe). It’s a fantastic way to explore without missing out underground, so try to weave in a detour through Camley Street Natural Park (Kings Cross), Kyoto Gardens (Holland Park) or the Hampstead Pergola, if you have time.
What journey would you most like to go on?
I would most like to journey through Sri Lanka and Costa Rica, as they represent two completely different sides of the world, both equally captivating, which I’ve yet to explore.
