What does a journey mean to you?
A chance to see things from a new perspective.
Which other country or location most inspires you?
Mexico City has such an exciting energy to it. It’s that infectious feeling of people making stuff happen that is really inspiring to be around. I love the restaurants, the architecture, the shopping, the art – all of it!
Where would you go back to, and why?
I have been lucky to spend lots of time in India yet there are so many places in this vast and colourful country I still want to visit. High on my list is Ladakh for the mountains, Puducherry to visit the experimental town of Auroville and Bhuj in Gujarat for the textiles.
Top insider tip for Barcelona?
Skip the sangria and drink the Catalan choice, Vermouth. La Vermu in Gracia is my favourite spot.
What journey would you most like to go on?
Right now I am really taken with the idea of making a trip across Chile. I have always wanted to hike in Patagonia but recently I interviewed an astronomer based in the Atacama desert, the best place in the world for stargazing, and I am now desperate to go there, too – both for the skies and the otherworldly landscape itself.
