Danielle Demetriou is a British writer and editor who has lived in Japan since 2007. She writes about Japanese design, architecture, crafts, culture and travel for newspapers, magazines and books. From northernmost Hokkaido down to Okinawa’s southern islands (and many places in-between), she travels widely across Japan, interviewing architects, farmers, sumo wrestlers, designers, artisans, monks, artists and, on one occasion, an astronaut (yes, really). She lives in an old wooden machiya townhouse in Kyoto.
