Copenhagen’s design credentials are well-documented and Danes know how to dress well. The city is also a world-leader in sustainability, so little wonder it is home some of Europe’s best vintage shopping, where you’ll find pre-loved Chanel and Balenciaga alongside home-grown talent such as Ganni, Stine Goya and Cecilie Bahnsen.

Where to shop vintage in Copenhagen

Many of Copenhagen’s best vintage shops are clustered in the centre, allowing you to easily match a shopping trip with a visit to one of the city’s recommended restaurants. Venture farther north to Frederiksberg and Vesterbro and you’ll find vintage stores dotted along Gammel Kongevej, alongside coffee shops and wine bars.

Running from mid-April to early October, the Sunday Gentofte Loppemarked market is worth travelling for, with a covetable selection of upmarket homeware and vintage clothing. Closer to the centre, the weekend Det Grønne Loppemarked flea market draws a hip crowd from May through September.
