Where to shop vintage in Copenhagen
Many of Copenhagen’s best vintage shops are clustered in the centre, allowing you to easily match a shopping trip with a visit to one of the city’s recommended restaurants. Venture farther north to Frederiksberg and Vesterbro and you’ll find some of the best shops in the city, alongside coffee shops and wine bars.
Running from mid-April to early October, the Sunday Gentofte Loppemarked market is worth travelling for, with a covetable selection of upmarket homeware and vintage clothing. Closer to the centre, the weekend Det Grønne Loppemarked flea market draws a hip crowd from May through September.

Time’s Up Vintage on Krystalgade in the city centre is the place to go for archival designer fashion for men and women. Episode on Larsbjørnsstræde in the city centre is where you need to go for old-school tank tops, low-rise denim and vintage sportswear styles. O-S-V. Secondhand Fashion is a small second-hand consignment store on Peter Hvidtfeldts Stræde in the inner city. Locals can book a slot online to bring in their pre-loved items to be sold for a slice of the profit. Both menswear and womenswear is available in-store, and you’ll find high-end clothing and accessories from the likes of Missoni, Supreme and Our Legacy. The store hosts regular pop-ups with other sustainability-focused businesses, including luxury brand rental service Rentage.

Technically its own municipality outside of Copenhagen, Frederiksberg is a region rife with natural wine shops, cosy cafes and the city’s zoo located in the iconic Frederiksberg Have gardens. The main high street Gammel Kongevej (which means ‘old king’s way’) is where you’ll find locals shopping and eating out on a sunny weekend. At the end of the street leading into the neighbourhood of Vesterbro, you’ll find I Blame Lulu. A second-hand shop that supplies womenswear, the city’s influencers keep the racks stocked with new-season pieces from the likes of Balenciaga, Miu Miu and Ganni.
Tootsie
Best for: New runway pieces at discounted prices
Location: Gl. Kongevej 107, 1850 Frederiksberg
You won’t miss Tootsie’s bright orange facade, located a few doors down from I Blame Lulu. A trove of designer vintage, Missoni knits and Chanel tweed can be found alongside contemporary Danish brands such as Stine Goya and Cecilie Bahnsen. You can also pick up cowboy boots, costume jewellery and glasses.
2nd Rag
Best for: Luxury and high street secondhand womenswear

Another premium second-hand store along Frederiksberg’s Gammel Kongevej high street, 2nd Rag is one of the most popular shops on the road. This is largely due to the volume and variation of wares on offer. You’ll find Danish fashion brands such as ROTATE, Saks Potts and Ganni here, alongside international labels like Jean Paul Gaultier and Marni. Luxury aside, 2nd Rag stocks pieces from high-street retailers including Urban Outfitters and Arket. Don’t forget to browse the sunglasses section, where you can pick up a pair from Chanel or Bottega Venetta for under 2,000 DKK (279 USD).

Gentofte Loppemarked
Best for: Premium secondhand homeware, clothing and jewellery
Location: Bregnegårdsvej 2, 2920 Charlottenlund
When: Every Sunday, 8am-12pm, mid-April to early October
Located just outside Copenhagen, the Gentofte region is an affluent neighbourhood known for its ornate stately homes. As a result, the Gentofte Loppemarked is considered one of the best flea markets in the country for discovering upmarket homeware, clothing and jewellery for a reasonable price. Taking place at Bregnegårdsvej 2, just behind Charlottenlund station, sellers rent racks and tables to sell their goods from 8am to 2pm every Sunday from mid-April until early October each year. Any profit made by the market is donated to Hostel Overføstergården, which houses homeless people in need of help in the region. Entrance to the market is free, so arrive early to beat the crowds.
Det Grønne Loppemarked
Best for: Chic flea market finds, plant-based meals and fun family activities
Location: Nørrebroruten, 2200 København
When: Select weekends, May-September
Copenhagen’s cool kids head to Det Grønne Loppemarked for the goods as well as the vibes. Open on select weekends from May until September, the market occurs in the heart of Nørrebro – the city’s liveliest neighbourhood, thanks to its abundance of late-night bars and restaurants. The flea market hosts around 100 stalls selling clothes, accessories and art, as well as championing plant-based food vendors like Det Rene Brød and small businesses such as the feminist volunteer-run bookstore Det Lilla Rum. Wellness is also an important draw, with STIKMIG acupuncture having offered free sessions during previous markets. A family-friendly affair, Det Grønne Loppemarked makes for an immersive day out.
