What does a journey mean to you?
A journey is going on a trip, finding inspiration and discovering something new about the place you’re visiting and also about yourself. It’s also creating new memories and making new connections.
Which country or location most inspires you?
Currently, that would be Seoul and Copenhagen – both of which are creative cities with a great sense of design aesthetic.
Where would you go back to and why?
London and Barcelona. London because it’s always changing, it has a great poetry and theatre scene, wonderful book shops, and you can go on night walks at the Barbican and visit the Tate Modern Lates. Barcelona – to see the architecture, take in the sun (ironic, since I’m from Bangkok, where we have three seasons of various heat) and enjoy the city’s rich history and culinary offerings.
Top insider tip for Bangkok?
Thai people don’t eat pad thai daily. We do have pad thai occasionally (read: once or twice a year—maybe once a month for some), but pad kra prao and noodles are more of a staple dish for most people.
Drinks and juices in Thailand can be very sweet. You can tell the vendor ‘waan noi’ or ‘less sweet’ to keep your drinks at a diabetes-safe level.
What journey would you most like to go on?
A road trip around the countryside of Japan or taking a train ride along the sea from Shimonada train station in Ehime.
