What does a journey mean to you?
A journey involves whimsy and flexibility. Less rigid schedule, more traveling on instinct and moving based on information you gather along the journey itself.
Which country or location most inspires you?
I spend a lot of time in small towns that aren’t curated for tourists. I enjoy watching daily life and partaking in simple things, like going to the butcher. I recently spent the summer bouncing between villages in the Apennines, mostly attending their summer festivals. The connection to nature and simple joy of it all remained with me.
Where would you go back to and why?
I’ve been to Morocco many times but I’d always go back for the exceptional friendliness and amazing food. Also, Slovenia for its imposing nature. Incredibly clean lakes threaded through towering mountains provide endless days of activities.
Top insider tip for Milan?
Milan’s outskirts contain underrated gems. Small towns, farm restaurants, and rushing rivers are all under twenty minutes away. While you’re in the city, Wagner Market is one of the only enclosed food markets in the city. It’s a great place to pick up extremely fresh produce, cheese, and more to bring for a day in Sempione park. Or, they’ll vacuum pack it to bring the haul home.
What journey would you most like to go on?
Horseback riding through Kyrgyzstan. Although, I’ve yet to ever ride a horse.
