April Clare Welsh is a freelance music journalist, content editor, copywriter, radio presenter (and occasional DJ) originally from London and now based in Lisbon. She has covered music festivals in Mexico, Iceland and Açores and written about local scenes in Colombia, São Paulo, Amsterdam, China, Mongolia and her much-loved home of Portugal. Previously a staff writer at Fact, she is interested in global electronic and experimental music and music tech, writing for a variety of print and digital publications including the Wire, DJ Mag, The Face, Beatportal, Bandcamp and Crack. Since 2022, she has been exploring her interest in Portuguese-speaking music and culture with a radio show on Glasgow’s Clyde Built Radio called Bué Fixe, co-hosted with her friend Teamy.

New Orleans.
Where would you go back to, and why?
New Orleans! Or Mexico City (as I was only there for a few days and have so much more to see).

Take the ferry across the river.
What journey would you most like to go on?
Too many! But I would love to hike the Appalachian Trail, sail the Great Lakes, or island hop in Greece.
